On 8/27 we went to Stone Mountain State Park again, but this time to hike. We hiked the main trail that goes up and over the mountain, it was a nice day and a beautiful hike. We also stopped for ice cream on the way out of the park at the recommendation of Steven and Libby and it was GREAT!
Preparing for the hike. The road was under constructionso we had to park in the grass next to the parking lot.
We stopped about 3/4 of the way up the mountain to eat lunch. We left Eli in the backpack to act as the high chair.
Eli was so happy with all of the fun stuff to look at,including his Chestnut Oak leaf.
He was drinking from his sippy cup when he sawsomething and it was so funny!! Look ma' no hands!
It was a bit hazey but we had a good view.
Made it to the top, but 2,305 just doesn't sound very impressive.

Eli was so tired towards the end of the hike,look how his cheek is limp.
The field below the mountain where there are some old farm buildings and exhibits.We also took some fun pictures of the local wildlife. We also found some blueberries to eat near the top of the mountain. Eli was part of the wildlife on the ride home!

What beautiful pics of the mountain. Now, that hike would not be for me, but good for you guys! Love the pic of Eli as the wildlife, very funny!
