Sand and Water Table

On 3/15 spring arrived!!! It was awesome, and we have had some good days since then too! It was so nice on that Monday that we just HAD to put together Eli's Sand & Water Table that he got for Christmas. He was very excited. Eli has loved playing in his table! It didn't take long for us to learn that we shouldn't expect much sand to stay in the table, luckily Andrea bought like 3 times more sand than we needed (we will use it all by the end of summer I am sure) :-) We have yet to put water in the table but when it is consistently warm enough to add water, I am sure he will love the table even more. Eli really enjoys playing outside and throws a FIT when you bring him in.

In this video you see Eli helping unpack the table and how excited he was about it. When he is attempting to screw in the screws, you will hear him say he "Almost" has it, now he calls screws "almost" :-) Finally, you will see him attempt to keep me from putting the lid on the table. He would point to the spot on the ground where he wanted me to put the lid, instead of on the table :-)

As you can see we are going to keep the box for as log as we can. We don't loose as much sand when we can pour it back in. We started with just the top but had to put down the entire box!!!

This was Eli's first time in the table with sand in it, again he loves it!!

He's been asking for a blanket a lot recently, it's so cute. He also has a make-shift pillow under his sheet, of folded up sheets, as elevation for his head since he's had a lot of congestion recently. I think it's allergies, which would make sense b/c his Mama and Dada have the same issues!

It's getting close! We have about a month and a half to go until our due date! Jason is in the process of painting Eli's new room (which he probably won't move into until a couple of months after the baby is born), we are trying to narrow down names for the baby, and I'm getting bigger and bigger! We are down to the every 2 weeks OB appointments now. Everything is looking good and the baby likes to move around A LOT! We feel very blessed that things have gone so well, and are praying for a safe labor and delivery and a healthy baby!

Fun Filled Day

On Wednesday, March 3, Eli and I spent the morning with some friends from our church small group. Eli and Tyler had to get a picture together since they were both currently in "boots."

After a fun morning playing with Shelly and her 3 boys we headed to Winston Salem to meet the brand new Baby Scheffer who was born on March 2!!! We have been anticipating baby Scheffer's arrival for some time. Libby's due date was exactly 10 weeks before ours. You may remember seeing our belly comparison pictures. They didn't find out what they were having prior to his arrival either, so it was very exciting to find out that Luke has a little brother!!! Elliot Jace looks just like his big brother did when he was born! We are so happy for Steven and Libby!

Well, I entered another decade, the big 30!!! On 2/20/10 I hit the mark. It was a good day. I worked, of course, and then after work we went to dinner in Greensboro and met Andrea's parents and the Renfrow's. It was a fun dinner but became stressful at the end, with it being Eli's first full day in the cast and him being a little fussy. It was fun to see everyone though!!!

Blue Boot

A lot of you probably know by now that Eli was in a cast for two weeks. On 2/18 Eli fell while walking into the kitchen. He was really upset and we thought it was because he bit his lip, so he watched an Elmo with Mama while Dada finished getting ready for work. When I came back into the room and Elmo ended Eli wanted down to walk to Dada... well, he wouldn't put any weight on his leg and went hysterical again. SO.... a trip to urgent care for x-rays (x-rays with an 18 month old NOT FUN!!!). No breaks showed up and we were told if he didn't put weight on it in 24 hrs to see a specialist. He was very pitiful that night and of course he would not put any weight on his leg the next morning. We went to the Orthopedist and Eli ended up in a cast. He was amazing getting the cast on, not making a single peep! It took him the whole weekend but by Sunday night/Monday morning he was getting around in his cast pretty well.

We had to buy him some new pajamas to fit over the cast, no footie PJ's with a cast on. Bath times of course turned into sponge baths and they weren't as bad as we expected them to be. He, however, did not like to get his hair washed!!!!

We called it the blue boot and Eli seemed to like the name. He wore it for two weeks, and it is now off. We have had two more scares with limping. The night he got the cast off he tweaked it in the tub and wouldn't use his leg for a day and then this past Tuesday he fell again. He wouldn't use his right leg for 24 hours and we checked in with the Doc. We did not get another cast, though the Doc gave us the option. Tonight, Thursday, he appears to be okay but is still favoring it a little. The high blood pressure and grey hairs are definitely on their way!!!

Eli & Luke

On Valentines day we watched Luke for a little while while Steven and Libby went out for Valentines and Libby's B-Day (also the 14th). Eli really likes hanging with his buddy Luke. He will talk about Luke for weeks after they play. As you can see there was a lot of energy in the room!!! After their movie we all went to Red Robin together.
