1st Birthday Party for Claire

This is a little late and out of chronological order, but there were some cute pictures that I just had to share! Eli and I (Andrea) went to the Renfrow's on January 31 for a birthday party for our neice (and cousin) Claire!

Solid Food

On 2/4 we gave Eli his first solid food!  We gave him some rice cereal for the first two weeks or so and he has since tried peas, and sweet potatoes (jars from the store). He really likes the food and it is fun to feed him, it is however an adventure in messiness! He gets the food all over his face and you better push his sleeves up before you start (notice in the video, we were rookies and the sleeves are down)!

Eli really likes to help you feed him. He will grab the spoon as you bring it toward him. He also likes to hold the spoon in his mouth so he can suck on it a little bit.

His first feeding was an exhausting adventure.

Last night Andrea was using our little food grinder to make him some homemade peas and sweet potatoes.  Eli liked the sweet potato but not the peas.  We should have known he would not like the peas because we did not like them either.  We like to buy generic but have learned a few times that some generics aren't worth it... Walmart frozen peas.... DEFINITELY not worth it!!!!  He was making some crazy disgusted faces!  Sorry Eli!

Eli's First Snow

On 2/3 we got huge snow flurries and were very excited, unfortunately it only lasted 30 minutes.  We had to take Eli out to see his first snow.  I really miss snow!  I do not think I have seen more than 3" in North Carolina!  Everyone tells me it used to snow in NC, but I don't believe them.

Exer-saucer

Another fun toy that Eli got for Christmas, from Andrea's parents, is an exer-saucer.  It didn't take him anytime at all to figure out how to spin all the way around it or get the toys into his mouth!

Raspberries

Eli has a fun new trick he has been doing for a few weeks, he likes to blow raspberries.  While I write this he is across from me in his doorway bouncer and blowing raspberries at the same time.  Watching him I can only imagine how much of a hand full he is going to be once he can run around.....
