Randomness

The pics are from my first two days off in September. We went for a bike ride in the park on day one and on day two we did work around the house including cleaning out some drawers.

Muscadines at the community building. They are pretty good and this vine is very productive and easily accessible.

More grapes.

Riding makes you thirsty. I didn't intentionally plan on getting a pic of them both drinking but I love it. Eli is crossing his feet, something he likes to do.

What a cutie.

This picture makes me smile! I see Andrea saying OOooo!
and Eli just looks like he is chillin'.

Unfortunately during drawer cleaning Andrea talked me into getting rid of my thread bare, holey UMaine long sleeve 1999 National Champions shirt.... I had to pose with it before it hit the goodwill pile. Come on Maine it is time to get out of the Frozen Four and win another championship!!!

As soon as the drawer was put on the bed it was Eli's new toy. He was so funny. First he helped empty it by pulling out shirts one and a time and putting them in a pile. Then he started putting shirts from all over the bed back into it. Then he realized he could get into it. He needed minimal help to get in the first time but then got in and out without help.

Playing with toys.

I don't know what this face means but I think it is funny.

Another Trip to Stone Mountain

On 8/27 we went to Stone Mountain State Park again, but this time to hike. We hiked the main trail that goes up and over the mountain, it was a nice day and a beautiful hike. We also stopped for ice cream on the way out of the park at the recommendation of Steven and Libby and it was GREAT!

Preparing for the hike. The road was under construction
so we had to park in the grass next to the parking lot.

We stopped about 3/4 of the way up the mountain to eat lunch.
We left Eli in the backpack to act as the high chair.

Eli was so happy with all of the fun stuff to look at,
including his Chestnut Oak leaf.

He was drinking from his sippy cup when he saw
something and it was so funny!! Look ma' no hands!

It was a bit hazey but we had a good view.

Made it to the top, but 2,305 just doesn't sound very impressive.

Looking towards the area where Eli
and I were standing two pics above.

Now that would be one fun rock slide....

Eli was so tired towards the end of the hike,
look how his cheek is limp.

The field below the mountain where there are some old farm buildings and exhibits.

We also took some fun pictures of the local wildlife. We also found some blueberries to eat near the top of the mountain. Eli was part of the wildlife on the ride home!

Birthday Party

On 8/15, a few days before Eli officially turned ONE we had a party for him at the house. It was a ton of fun. Eli thoroughly enjoyed his first taste of cake and icing!!! The theme was "Forest Friends". Andrea made a fun cake and cupcakes and I found a bunch of beaver chewed sticks, and a birds nest as decorations, it of course was held outside.

Eli's beautiful cake and acorn cupcakes.

What a happy boy!

"HI" Eli loves to wave!

Yum cake!

This is great!

Notice there is only a small bit of cake
and no icing left, he downed his cupcake.

The aftermath.

Happy family.

The whole family.

We have such generous friends and family.
Eli got some great toys which he loves to play with.
