Fun Times in Durham

The day my parents left we headed out to Durham for a baby shower the next day. We had a great time playing and exploring around the pond and walking around the woods. Eli loves to explore and I have so much fun showing him new things in nature. We even got Mama to hold a frog.

Walking down to the pond with Grandma and Grandpa.

Riding the pig!! When Eli saw the pig
the first thing he wanted to do was ride it.

Eli looking at a frog I caught.
He loved to look but was wary about touching.

A Northern Cricket Frog. This is the one that Eli is looking at above. You can read about them and hear their sound here.

Dandelions.

The draw back to encouraging the nature hikes is that Eli is good at finding things. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Eli poke this guy, I yanked Eli away as the spider did a pose similar to this :-)

Rub-a-dub-dub, three kids in the tub!

Gwinn Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Gwinn and Pops were here for the end of their spring break a few weeks ago. We had a really good time and the weather was perfect!! We spent a lot of time on the deck on our recently procured patio furniture. We also got a swing set that was not in use at another residence and set it up in our yard, and Eli loves it! We also watched a movie each night...good times were had by all.

The new swing set!

Grandpa pushing Eli. Even days after they left Eli would say " Grandpa push".

Eli and Mama swinging.

Eli covered in "cheese" from the cheese balls.

The infamous cheese balls on the table. They were a gift from Grandpa and when he brought them out and asked Eli if he wanted one Eli got super excited. Eli did not even know what a cheese ball was! Well, he LOVED them and is a cheese ball monster! (yes, we know how bad they are for all of us.....)

Goldfish time.

Grandma and cantaloupe.

Pops and Eli putting coins into Pig. Eli loves Pops and it just warms my heart! Weeks after they left Eli still points to the chair in the corner of the deck and says "Pots".

Easter

On Easter Sunday we gave Eli a basket (we recycled some of your package Jill, thanks!) and had some candy before Andrea and Eli went to church and I went to work. As you will see Eli loves chocolate! Recently we put some chocolate in his milk and he took a big gulp and we asked if it was tasty and he said "Mo' Tasty"!!!

Eli being cute sitting in the laundry basket.

Eli wondering what is different about the table.

An Easter Basket!!

Eli's first Peep, he wasn't really that into eating them...

however, Mama WAS!!!

Sweet, this egg has chocolate!

Look at that face!!! (Besides being cute, his lips
have a bunch of chocolate on them)

Beautiful Easter Eggs.

An awesome video, if I must say so myself!!! Eli loves to watch this video and cracks up at himself.

Easter Egg Hunt

As per usual, I worked Easter weekend, but I was on a closing shift so we were able to go to an Easter Egg Hunt near the house. This hunt was at a local Methodist Church and it was packed. They had different hunt times for all age groups and luckily, Eli's age group was first, go figure. He really enjoyed looking for and finding the eggs. He would pick one up and then say "Mo' Egg!, Mo' Egg!". After the hunt we played in the bounce house and on the playground. Eli also got to try a snow cone, which he LOVED!!

Coloring Eggs

On April 1st we colored some eggs for Easter. A fun Easter Box also arrived from Jill!!! Eli had a blast coloring the eggs and seeing what Jill sent.

Dipping an egg.

Careful.....

aww, how cute are these guys!

Put it back easily.

Look at all the eggs!!!

What is this??

Eli got candy, a truck, two cute little stuffed
bunnies, and an awesome book!

This is a compilation of videos from coloring the eggs. As you will see Eli had a great time. He has also eaten hard boiled eggs and tried to crack one as soon as he was within reaching distance of the table.

Reading, Coins, & Lucy

These are just some random happenings. Eli loves to read! He will bring you books all day long if you let him. He also loves to put money into his piggy bank. Every now and then he will get a bag of coins from the grandparents, or will find some on a dresser and will insist on taking them to the pig.

Hop on Pop

Coins!!!

PIG!!!

This video was taken to document how Eli says Lucy. Andrea loves the way he says it and knows it will change soon. Instead of Lucy, it sounds like "Lush Lush".

See Ya Later....

On 3/27 we made a whirlwind trip to Durham to say good-bye to some good friends. One couple moved to Georgia and the other couple moved overseas!!! It was sad to say good-bye to them but technology will keep us up to date and we will see them again sometime!

Claire and Eli playing in the toy box.

Wyatt playing with Grandpa's "nockers".....
Well, that's at least what he used to call them :-)

After a couple rounds of Euker we had to say bye to the Dredlas.

We also said bye to the Scheffers in Durham.

They didn't even know brown was the color of the day!
